Happy New Year! What's your new year resolution? Something good? We started our week back with Phil back at work and us back to just the girls. We picked up William and went to the zoo. Seems like everyone else had the same idea. It was packed! Ellie threw a nasty temper tantrum so we left. It was lots of fun getting out of the zoo with 4 whiney ones (sarcasm)! Tuesday was NYE. We met the Kerkezi's at the downtown library for a noon years eve balloon drop. We did crafts and then a very disorganized balloon party. Then, we had lunch, ran the kids around a park and braved it through nap time for the Gator Bowl parade. With cotton candy and lots of other thrown candy, the girls loved it. It was a fun day. We threw out lots of NYE plans but that night, Phil and I went to dinner together at Pele's then came home grabbed the champagne and went to watch the fireworks on the boat. I don't know why we didn't think to do that originally. But, it was really nice! On New Year's Day, the Freemans had a hangover party. We drank bloody Mary's and mimosas while our kids tore up their house. I don't know that they'll do that again (especially on a rainy day). But we had a great time. That night, we sorta had a girls night at mom and dad's to bid Katie farewell. Thursday we went back over to say good-bye to Katie then headed to Target. Friday we trecked it out to Pump it Up. Seems like everyone also thought that was a great idea. My friend, Lisa was there, too! For the 3rd time we hung out this week. We went out to lunch at La Nap after. That night I made chili and the Suter's came over for PH. Phil continued the party by waltzing on King St afterwards. You know I was thrilled when he slept in on Saturday. The girls and I headed to DD's then a trailblazing adventure. Probably not the smartest mom-move but it was still pretty cool. We did the Tower Trail at the Tillie Fowler park. It was super cold, but lots of fun. Then we went to pick lemons at the Freemans for a limoncello party that night. The Lear's had a bunch of people over to make authentic limoncello. They had a pasta bar to help soak up some of the goodness. We also had 2 new Cardinal Puffs! Sunday was mass then wings & loaded fries for lunch. It was a beautiful day. I took down all the Christmas decorations, which was sorta sad. 2 of the Nixons green-lighted us. It was a nice break to our fight over who can go running. Phil went during bath time. Then, I did a 10 mile trip around the Forest (and then had to keep going around the Farms to get more mileage). I'm pretty sore today! My new year resolution is to work on my unconditional love to Phil. That's a tough one....already! What a wonderful year we've had. It's been full of tough moments and great moments. We are truly blessed. Cheers to 2014!
