A rainy, over-cast week bringing the Florida temperature down, an occasional oak tree with leaves turning a slight yellow...this is fall! I'm working hard to get Ellie some "big kids" to play with in the mornings. All of her friends from before are in different schools. We don't know anyone on the same class schedule. So, I've reached out to the parents in her class- sent around a clip board seeking numbers and email addresses to we can plan a morning playdate with her new friends. Not quite the reaction I was hoping for. Some parents refused to give me their info...!? I did get 2 new Facebook friends and I've invited everyone for a park play date this week so I'll keep you posted. As for this week, Ellie did some complaining about having to play with the babies. At least she had a MOPS Monday with her old pals so that helped a bunch. Here's what we did at MOPS, great recap! Tuesday we had the Rice girls over for some fun- 8 ladies! 2 moms and 6 baby girls! 5 of the 6 were 2 and under! Wow! That night we celebrated my dad's Birthday. Marly and I worked on a key lime pie while Ellie was at school. I taught her to juice the limes! I put together a seafood ensemble. The girls loved throwing him a party! Lot of fun! Wednesday was a down day. We went to Target before school. Thursday we had Tabby and William over again to play. We had a book swap for a girls night that night. Lots of fun, but Friday was very painful. Not the best mom decision there. Friday morning we did Discovery House, expensive but lots of fun. We're used to the post-lunchtime dash at this point. We eat at 11 then book it to get Ellie to school on time. This morning in mass, Sister Patricia said she's usually washing the lunchtime dishes and loves to watch me get all the kids out of the car to rush Ellie to her classroom. I'm sure it's very entertaining. (the Little Hearts parking lot backs up to the convent). After nap we had a pm play date at the Suters which turned into a Pizza-Palooza: test-tasting pizzas from 1. Uncle Charlie's, 2. Tracy Suter, 3. Papa Johns and 4. Pizza Hut. Here's my rank: 2,4,3,1. It was nice to get to sleep early, I needed it! Saturday, Phil made us breakfast! We went to Poppy's 1st Birthday at the park- so sweet! We've been spending so much time outside with this weather. Every afternoon the girls and I go out- walks & bike rides! Saturday afternoon we went to the park and watched Phil play soccer & football with some guys. It was so nice to just be outside! Phil and I got a sitter and met up with the Jones' & Mitsi for a parents night out at Taco Lu's then Engine 15- partying at the beach. My sister surprised her husband with a limo ride for his Birthday. They crashed our night and let us tag along to their party. We went to Casa Marina for a drink then headed back to town. Woow! I was up making berry pancakes with the girls this morning. The homily in mass was pretty good. He talked about taking care of your neighbor (it made me think back to Tuesday when I climbed my neighbor's lime tree for 3 limes after he cut back the branches that used to hang over our side of the fence...guess I should make him a pie too...) Today was nice and low key- boat ride, hanging at a park while Phil played bball, carving a pumpkin, glancing at football (not much to see). I'm excited for pumpkin baking this week! Happy Fall to you all!
