What a big week! Yesterday we had Abigail Lucy baptized! Lots of family came in town for the special occasion. We started off the week with Abigail's 4 month appointment (even though she's now 5 months, as of Saturday). She is weighing in at 10.5 lbs and looking good. Dr. Stanley predicts she'll have brown eyes and was impressed she's rolling over, pulling herself up and grabbing toys (and hair). My great pal, Emma had a sprinkler playdate with the older girls so I could just take Abigail. Nice! We had book club on the roof top of Black Sheep that night to discuss the Perks of Being a Wallflower. I read it so long ago, but it was a great discussion and a nice night. After swim team on Tuesday, I threw together a coffee club at Tracy's splash park. We ended up having an awesome discussion about Edward Snowden while the kids chilled with a bunch of daycare kids. Mom brought Aunt Susan over for a glass of wine to welcome her to town. That evening after dinner we went to welcome Matt back to J-vegas and late that night I rode out with the crowd to pick up Katie from the airport. It's so exciting having everyone in town! After swim team on Wednesday I got a babysitter and we went to dad's Rotary club to see Katie become a Paul Harris fellow. It was nice to have a lunch out with adults! We all went out for dinner at Trents. On Thursday Ellie had some cheerleaders at swim team practice. The Kerkezi's, mom, Katie & Aunt Susan all came to see and swim. Then we all had lunch together at La Nap. That frozen rita nearly got me, but I powered through my "to-do" list for the afternoon. Katie and her bud Shannon watched the girls for me while I skipped over for my friend Lauren's baby shower- to welcome baby boy #3! Then we all went to Owen's baseball game. It was hot, sunny and steamy. After putting the girls down I snuck back over to my parents to get more family time in. Friday, Ellie did awesome in her mini meet- coming in first in butterfly (although, I don't like to make it much of a competition for these little 4 year olds). Matt & Aunt Susan came to watch. Then, we headed over to the Suter's for a MOPS pool playdate. It was great to catch up with those friends. After nap we did some skiing, tubing and swimming then had sea bass for dinner at my parents (they went deep sea fishing the day before). The Bravos (including Phil's sister, Vanessa) all came in late Friday night. So waking up on Saturday morning to coffee and blueberry pancakes was wonderful! We did some tubing in our boat after breakfast. Ellie & Marly fell off the tube for the first time with Vanessa. Pretty scary at first, but then Ellie kept wanting to go swimming in the river. Lots of family fun- swimming and catching up with everyone. Katie's boyfriend, Zach flew in late Friday, too. I spent the afternoon prepping for Abigail's big day then we headed back over to my parent's to welcome the Mallette's (Abby's godparents) and a big family dinner. We even got in a night out- waltzing on King Street to show off our local beer district. I guess it took THREE kids to finally get a perfect baptism. Not that the first two weren't fabulous...but this time we were actually EARLY for mass. The girls wore their new Ecuadorian hand made white dresses. Abigail was so good in mass and slept through the whole baptism like a little angel...even when Fr. Dola poured water on her head! There was a huge afternoon thunderstorm but we raced home and threw a fantastic reception. Thank you Alfred for the amazing pulled pork, Stouffer's for a fab mac & cheese and all the party guests who helped whip up a great party. The last guests didn't leave until 4pm and you know we were exhausted. While everyone was sleeping I snuck back over to my parents, handed the Godfather (Jeff), his Goddaughter and went on the boat to watch Katie & Zach get thrown off the tube (you know Matt was the driver). I'll try to post that video, so awesome! Another family dinner and then put 3 super tired girls to bed. Congratulations Baby Abigail! Welcome to the Catholic family! Yeah! What a special day! The family all trickled away today. We were able to get in super cousin time and the rain today didn't even bother us. Tomorrow will be back to our routine. Thank you to everyone who came to share Abigail's special day!
