We enjoyed a few more days with my brother, Matt. It was so nice to have him here. I wish all my siblings lived in town. Matt came with us to have lunch with Ellie. I think she really enjoyed the attention. We had the first MOPS Leadership meeting followed by an open house. I always love meeting new moms in the trenches. Some of it seems a little old, I've been doing lots of these things for six years now. But there still seems to always be uncharted territory. I could always use a pat on the back and confidence boost- and that's what MOPS does for me. After the open house we met my parents and Matt for a "last supper" at Metro Diner. Later that night I went on a run with Matt, like old times when we were training for basketball. Ha! The girls had their first golf lesson. We stayed and swam then went to kids night at TCC. We spent lots of time at the club this week! Saturday we watched the FSU game there. Marly and I went and hit some balls on the driving range before the rain came. I haven't done that in like 7 years! Then on Sunday we ran up and went swimming while Phil played tennis. The weather has even started to get cooler as if it really is fall in FL! Ellie's open house was Thursday night. Mom watched the middle 2 so we could just focus on Ellie. That was nice. I'm not 100% sure of her teacher- the verdict is still out. Abigail did a touch better in her ballet class this week, but that's still not great. Her teacher suggested we try the Friday class. That didn't work but at least Marly got an extra ballet class! We stayed for lunch after so that made the day fun. That night was our engaged encounter gathering. The enrichment was fun! We even did some late night swimming at the Applegates. The weekend was very low key. Lots of rain. We ended up going to the Nixons Saturday night. Phil took Abby to her pal's Birthday party. Abigail has been tough to get to bed at night. She's been doing great with the potty training, though. She gets a piggy back ride around the house if she goes the whole day with no accidents. Good cardio for mom, too! Sunday night we had a babysitter and went out with a childhood friend's brother-in-law who just moved to town. We did the Black Sheep rooftop and had a fun night meeting new people. Monday morning came quick! The first MOPS meeting of the year! Here's a recap. It's going to be a great year! That afternoon Marly went to play at the neighbor's across the street (and Ellie after school) so I sorta had a break. Today was busy! Voss had a weight check! He's gained 3 pounds and 1 inch in 6 weeks. Yay! This guy loves to eat! Abigail played with her friend Alice and baked us all muffins during the appointment. Then she and Voss had a play date with Lola while we went out for Stephanie's Birthday. Just a fun lunch! More to come this weekend! Today was a ballet afternoon. Lots of wardrobe changes, snacks and stories in the car. We even got to meet Jan's new puppy, Jenny. Lots of rain bringing this cooler weather. We're just chugging right along.
