I think it was the middle of the week before I caught up on my sleep. The week was sorta foggy so I'm glad to use the "I have a newborn" and "I have 4 kids" to cover that up a bit. Sometimes I feel like I'll never get out of the slump of a messy house. This was one of those weeks, especially since our washing machine was dying a slow death. It wasn't spinning well so that meant an extra go in the dryer. One of the last times it smelled like something was burning so that can't be good. So I stopped doing laundry until Lowe's delivered the newbie on Friday afternoon (of course in the 4 hour window they arrived as I was loading the kids to pick up Ellie from school so we were late to get her). The week was fairly low key with play dates at the park, visiting with the Thompsons in town and my mom. Voss had a 2 month check up and is doing great. He's in the 50th percentile, weighing in at 11.5 lbs. Voss and I went to the Penance Service while Ellie had girl scouts. Later we did a PH with Dave. Great middle of the week stress reliever! We had lunch with some friends from the Family Life office to share ideas in our new role as the coordinators of CEE. I spent lots of time this week setting up calendar reminders for all the stuff I should be doing- ack! Google calendar + wine + prayer = how I'm functioning these days. Friday was our 11th wedding anniversary! We made it another year! We celebrated by going to family bingo night at TCC. Going out with the whole fam is sorta stressful. I'm thankful friends came over to our table to help. Ellie won a door prize, this horrible play dough sand that is now all in the carpet upstairs. (see the messy house comment above.) Saturday was a family run then a trip to the town center. 2 rounds of ritas at Cantina Laredo helps to de-stress those family meals. A beautiful day to walk around, we hadn't done that in a while (you know the town center causes me anxiety). We had Kayla babysit that night- our first night out without Voss! He was asleep when she arrived and didn't wake for a feeding until after we were back, but still. He's a good baby like that. I don't know if it's my mom skills or just him. For our night out we began at Or'Say. We ran into our neighbors, the Freemans and chatted and then tried to sit away so we could "talk about our love" (Phil hates when I say that, ha!). We ended the night on the rooftop of Black Sheep and it was such a nice night by the fire. Sunday we did the early mass because we went to the Napoleons for a dinner party. I took an amazing 2.5 hour nap with Voss. Wow! The dinner party was fun, the Napoleons are fantastic hosts and there were 2 other couples- some new friends at TCC! Of course we stayed too late so the kids were crabby on Monday. We had the MOPS Easter egg hunt so after a bunch of candy the middle two were happy and playing at the park for hours. I made Voss wear a bunny suit. Sorry, pal! I did a pm marathon of dinner (I'm cooking now that our meals are out), girl scouts, a mission at church (with the middle two playing with play dough during to keep quiet), bath and then I left for a MOPS girls night at Mellow Mushroom. I arrived just in time, as trivia was ending. A few of us stayed til late chatting. It was nice! Today we ran down to Willow's house for a play date and later did our pm park date and had a mullet sighting! It was a banner day at the park!
