Oh, family. It was a big family week for us. Lots of drama. I kicked it off with 3 girls nights out in a row. I know, that sounds like a lot. It just so happened that lots came together at the same time. Monday was book club to discuss And the Mountains Echoed. Great convo! We covered arranged marriage, homosexuality, love, loyalty, Maslows Hierarchy of Needs, story layout and many other topics. Tuesday was dinner out with Jenny, my pal moving to NC, Steph and Emma. I skipped the dinner and just did the drinks. Wednesday my brother ubered from the airport right to Raindogs. We watched him perform improv. Super fun! Later we went to dinner- the kids minus Katie. We loved it! Monday we had a swim meet. Phil came home early with flu-like symtoms (ah-hem a "man cold"). Abby pulled the Michaels cart over and Voss looks like he was in a knife fight. It was a hot afternoon and the baby pool was off limits. Ellie started complaining early on. The worst was when she showered off and thought she was finished- then a pal found her in the bathroom and told her she still had a relay race. Oh my! My brother Matt arrived on Tuesday. We went rope swinging and river swimming. We did the free movie and saw Aladdin on Wednesday. We went to a pm play date to discuss Steinhatchee. Thursday was a beach day. After a group of judgy moms commented on my parenting style, I was reminded why I like private country club beaches. We went straight from there to another swim meet. It was tough, but at least this one had a gated baby pool. I worked the bull pen with a baby in a carrier! Friday we did a fish dinner at my parents house. All my siblings were in town officially! We stayed up playing bridge. Yay! Saturday I took the older girls to a Birthday party. Abby hung out with Aunt Katie. That afternoon we went to St. Augustine for the BNL concert. Other than the extreme drama, it was a good show. Sunday was mass, FYC then BBQ chicken at my parents with UE and AS. It got extra exciting with a family meeting that night. For Independence Day we spent the morning at TCC with my brother, Matt. We came home and took a break then went back for dinner and fireworks. Great way to celebrate the 4th! The day after was rough. Everyone was tired from staying up so late and the pools were closed. I had the Kerkezi boys for the day. We started with riding bikes in the rain, then a pipe burst in the front yard and I had to have a neighbor turn off the water. For the afternoon, Erik and Katie came over and we paddleboarded and swimming in the river. We all went to bed really early last night! Today we did swim team then had a MOPS play date then more paddleboarding in the river. It's so hot and things are so hard but summer is just truckin' right along!
