Summer is here for sure! It's already sweltering outside! The afternoon rain cools it off a bit, otherwise I think we would just catch fire. It's that hot! We did the zoo with MOPS and then the Mitchells this week- visiting the splash pad TWO times. We went to an open play gymnastics place with some MOPS pals. After we had a quick picnic in the park (just too hot). We've been cooling off with afternoon smoothies for a snack. I bought an over-ripe bag of pears accidently. You know I hate throwing food away, so I cut them up and froze them. Blending them with yogurt is amazing! We had the Stevenson boys over for a play date one morning last minute. We've had swim team every afternoon. Thursday was the first meet at St. Johns Country Day school. Although we sweat through our clothes, I think it went by pretty quickly and was actually fun. I'm so proud of both of my river rats! This was Marly's first meet! I think she was the youngest swimmer competing for our team! Ellie won a few ribbons, I think (we haven't gotten them yet). They both did really well! We went out to La Nap for dinner after. Suzanne, Emma and I and 9 kids! Wednesday night we went to the first of the FFC Summer Marriage Series and heard Bishop Estevez speak on marriage as a vocation. Marly had a play date on Friday with a bunch of kids starting kindergarten at her new school in the fall. Too bad she was the only girl! (We only know 3 other girls starting with her!). So she played dress up inside with Abby and Sophie the whole time! That afternoon we went back to the Freemans for Carl's Birthday party. Awesome party with Mojos and great drinks. Saturday we took it easy- breakfast, a girls run then to the TCC pool with the Hollands. Abby and Voss jumped off the diving board! That night we got a last minute sitter and met some friends for dinner then headed to FYC for Trader Vics. Super fun party! There was a volcano, tiki bar, beach dance floor and a great band! Today we took it easy, bfast at TCC then a boat day in the cove. So much fun! We paddleboated, kayaked and swang off our neighbor's rope swing! The kids loved playing in the river. I even went on the rope swing a few times (I couldn't resist!) Such a great Sunday Funday! We cleaned up in time to go to the contemporary mass tonight then Publix for dinner! One more week of first grade for Ellie then summer is officially here!
