We had the threat of a hurricane at the beginning of the week. As usual, we got lucky. We headed out to Pump it Up, to beat the rain and get our sillies out. That afternoon Marly and Ellie had their annual doctor check-ups. They are both a little high for the BMI percentage. I was worried about this a few months ago. I guess golf and ballet wasn't enough cardio for my healthy eaters! That's where the weekend girls run began. I'm hoping swim team all summer will help! Ellie had her awards ceremony at school. So proud of her! She got a ribbon and medal for citizenship and all E's! She had a fun last week with parties, movies and cleaning out her desk. Her last day was a short day- we had ice cream for lunch! It's summer time officially! Our afternoons were spent at the pool for swim team. Can't imagine doing anything else in this heat! Lots of crabby tantrums this week, too. I think we all need a break with little activity. We had CEE Friday night. It was a small group but the babysitters took the kids on the playground, which was a nice change. Phil played in a tennis tournament all weekend. We did the FYC pool on Saturday without him. We did another cove afternoon- swimming and playing in the river. It was perfect! That night we went to a house warming party for a family who recently remodeled their house. The cool part is that we knew the people who used to live there. That's the second time that's happened to us. Fun! Sunday, the kids and I did mass and breakfast with the Applegates while Phil played tennis. I dipped out for the afternoon on a last minute girls trip to St. Augustine to see Cyndi Lauper! I enjoyed my Sunday Funday! We checked out a few bars before heading to the amphitheater. It was a great night! I turned around for a marathon Monday. I took the kids and met up with Suzanne and my cousin, Natalie in Daytona for a beach day. Our cousins had American Girl dolls they wanted to pass along to the girls. They are LOVING them! How else would I ever be able to write the blog in the middle of the day? They've been up there playing with them! Our cousin, Emily is so sweet to share them with us! It was great seeing them at the beach. We came back just in time for a swim meet yesterday. Unfortunately, it ended up being delayed and then canceled due to thunder and lightning (although it never really rained). We had Latin House for dinner and then we all passed out. First official day of summer was a success!
