I'm running on fumes as I write this blog tonight. I'm terrible at slowing down, fantastic at pushing my limits. This week is a good example of that. I wouldn't have it any other way, though! With the MOPS retreat this weekend, I spent lots of time prepping! I took a trip to St. Mark's on Monday morning then went to the Applegates for a pool playdate. Meghan made us a delicious curry chicken salad! Phil is the newest member of the Sacred Heart stewardship committee! He had his first meeting on Monday night. I had book club and was so excited to flaunt my Dauntless faction after reading Divergent that I had Mrs. B draw a dauntless tattoo on my shoulder and ran to Regan's for the meeting. Mom watched the girls until Phil came home. Tuesday we hit up on 'ole stomping ground, Willowbranch for Ms. Bell's music & movement. Afterwards, the Browns joined us for lunch at Chick-Fil-A. Wednesday we went to Sacred Heart for book day to meet Ellie's teacher and get a folder of paperwork to sign. So far, I'm really liking the school set up. Her teacher taught in a Montessori school for 10 years before coming to Sacred Heart! Nice! Afterwards we picked up the Browns (might as well pack 'em in if I'm driving a VAN) and met up with our MOPS friends at the Hanna Park splash park. It was so neat! Ellie got bored pretty fast but Marly and even Abby loved it! We had lunch then went to the beach for a few hours. I think that's the longest I've ever spent at the beach with the girls. They had a ball. We dropped the Browns off, went by Jan's for more retreat prep then came home and waited for Phil to take out to dinner. We went to Moon River to celebrate the closing of our Murray Hill investment property! Yahoo! It's so nice that finally one of our real estate ventures has been positive! Thursday was sorta a down day, after a day in the sun. The Browns came over for a playdate (maybe I should have named this entry: Fun with the Browns!) The girls played so well together! At one point after Amanda and I were chatting on the porch, I went to check on the girls who were upstairs by themselves. It was quiet so I thought the worst, but when I opened their bedroom door, they were taking turns doing each other's hair! How sweet!! I think Thursday was the one night I went to bed early. All the other nights I've stayed up working on the directory, leadership notebooks and retreat details. Friday we got up and went to the beach again! Crazy, I know. But, I'm telling you, the beach is so tough to get to. But once you're there, it's the best playdate for kids! We met the Mitchells out there. Hanna Park made me brave, we stayed pretty late in Ponte Vedra, too. Marly loves the water slide. So cool! I'm so amazed with my swimming girls! They also love holding hands in the ocean and "jumping" over the waves. Man, that was fun! We went to La Nap with the Suters that night (continued Murry Hill celebration). I was reminded why I don't like doing big friend dinners out, it's just too hard with all the kids. The margarita was amazing, but it was hard. Saturday morning was the big MOPS Leadership retreat. I brought Abigail with me, which was a little stressful at first, but she was great. I think the day went so well! We laughed really hard, drank wine, went swimming and planned the MOPS year. I just love that ministry! Phil and the older girls had fun, too. Ellie went to Cora's Fairy Princess Birthday party and they went on the boat a bunch. I got more of a break because it was Wine Night. Emily came to watch the girls and I was scrambling to get out the door (but it's always like that, really). The Thoresens hosted an Italian wine night. Lots of fun and we even ended up playing a beer drinking game! That made today rough. Phil left to play golf in St. Simon's Island, I took the girls to church. After nap we green lighted the Suter's pool. It's been so hot, it was perfect! Now, I'm totally and utterly worn out. We had a great week, but it's time for bed!
