Whew! I'm worn out- we're rockin' and rollin' for sure! It was a week of partying! The last week of school in 2014- so Ellie had a holiday sing along and Marly had a Christmas play. I hosted a huge, chaotic manatee encounter play date (of course no one saw a manatee)- but at least there were some paddleboating adventures (even though the rudder is still broken). I also hosted coffee club where we discussed the separation of church and state. Book club had a night out at VPizza in San Marco. Ellie's girl scout troop had a party (thus the gingerbread cookie making). Phil and I went on a date to confession. We first had dinner at TCC then headed to the Penance Service. Woo Whoo, wild night! My sister, Katie is here in town so it's been fun having her here! Suzanne and I took the kids to see Christmas lights in their neighborhood. They have a few of those houses where the radio station matches the blinking of the lights. Super cool! We had the MOPS Christmas party at the Evans. Lots of laughing! I love that! We celebrated Julianna's first Birthday, which was very special, with a snow party! The older girls and I joined my mom and sisters for lunch and then to see the Nutcracker. I teared up- thank goodness for the dark! It was so neat for me to be able to take the girls to see their first ballet with my mom and sisters...something we've been doing for years. I just loved that! Later that night we went to the Harmons Christmas party- catered, bartenders, passed hors de ours with live music and Santa! Very classy. It was a busy day, but really nice. Today Santa had coffee and donuts with us after mass. It was a dreary, rainy day. We spent it watching the Grinch and Frozen as a family while I finished a bunch of for real gingerbread men for Katherine's cookie swap. Those cookies took me 3 days! I began them on Friday but it took a few days for me to work the dough into people! Wow! The cookie swap was fun, I had a great conversation with 2 other moms with 4 (or soon to be) children. I don't come across too many of those women, so yay! The night ended with a luminary party at the Napoleons for Nick's Birthday. The rain ruined the luminaries but that didn't matter to us. Parties with the Napoleons are always a treat. I'm so impressed we still get invited places with all the kids! We have so much to be thankful for this Christmas season!
