I keep hearing and reading that folks are excited for the fall to begin. Not I. Summertime rocks! Luckily, we live in FL so although this is the last week of the summer, we can still keep swimming and boating for a while. And since Ellie is in school, our summer trips have ended so really Labor Day just means I can't wear white shoes. Another fun week to blog about! Abigail had her 6 month appointment on Monday (even though she just turned 7 months). As it turns out she's a little under weight (13.13lbs). She's supposed to be about 15lbs. So, I need to fatten her up. Ellie and Marly enjoyed some time at Kids Park during her appointment. So, I got some QT with the sweet pea. After Ellie's day at school we had her pal, Anna Grace over. She was so exhausted from a long day that she ended up zoning out in front of the TV while Marly played with AG. Tuesday we did the Willowbranch storytime then raced Ellie to school. I guess we won't be able to do the picnic in the park, I was a little late dropping her off. Lesson learned. That afternoon was Ellie's first dance class! She loved it! This class has worked out so well. The dance teacher comes right to her class after school and walks her to the building where the class is. She changes into her leotard (she was so excited, she actually wanted to wear it under her dress). Perfect! After dinner we did a sunset boat ride and even picked up the Freeman fam. Wednesday we went to a MOPS playdate at Gina's house. It was nice to see some MOPS pals I hadn't seen in a while. I'm ready for the year to begin! That night I got a ride to Intuition for a farewell party for a navy-wife pal moving to HI. We stayed out late toasting the super mom of 3 boys. It seems like all the cool navy people move. Hopefully they all come back through at some point. I know how that feels from the flip side. Thursday morning we ran/rode to the Freemans for a playdate. It was great to catch up with them. The weather was nice & breezy- not typical for August in FL. That night we did the coolest thing: took the boat to the Suns game! I am so impressed by us! And it was a perfect night for it. We were the only ones to park in the Met Park marina. The ride home was so smooth- like glass at night. Awesome! My mom's friend from high school coaches the opposite team and he got us all tickets to the game. So, Abigail made it to her first baseball game on her 7 month Birthday! Ellie and Marly are still talking about the cotton candy- ha! Friday morning we went swimming at my parents house to wait for my brother, Erik flying in. I ended up having to take Ellie to school before they arrived, but we came back so Marly could swim with Alex while we caught up with Erik over Firehouse Subs. M&D took Easy E to Black Sheep for dinner. We went to a super early dinner to Lola's with the Stanelle's & Suter's. We had an adults table and a kids table, which worked out really well. Saturday morning we did some skiing then went to M&D's for a quick swim before a nice, long naptime. That afternoon we swam, tubed and did a steak dinner. We put all the kids to bed at my parent's then went to meet Erik at the Salty Fig. He went to catch up with his old Mad Cowford pals. Abigail woke up so Phil went back to put her to sleep and let me stay out for a siblings night out. Suzanne and I waited a bit longer for Erik. We did a waltz down King Street and ended the night with a Krystals run at 3am! I know, I am crazy. You know Sunday was rough. I still got the gang to mass (all 3 of them went with Miss Kim :-) We had lunch then went to the Leen's baby gender reveal party. Such a cute idea! We ate ice cream while they let PINK balloons out of a bag to reveal that they are having a baby girl! Yeah! Then we went back over to my parents for more partying with Uncle Erik. We went tubing and swimming and then had a BBQ ribs dinner. Then we went on another sunset boat ride. We all came home and went to bed nice and early. Today is Labor Day. Nice to have another fun day to play. Phil took the older girls shopping while Abigail and I got picked up for another boat ride. We met the fam at La Nap for Erik's last supper. We did more shopping and stopped for ice cream. This afternoon was a little depressing. I hate seeing my siblings leave. I wish we all lived closer. It was sad seeing Erik go and my other brother, Matt leaves for Japan today for his 2 year tour. So, I called to say good-bye to him. There once was a time when I saw those guys ALL the time, it drove me crazy. Now, they live their own lives soooo far away. Luckily, Katie is coming for a visit soon and we have the first FSU game to look forward to tonight. Maybe a win will get me excited for the fall? Good-bye summer 2013 (video to come soon in the video section).
