What do you think of my new layout? This is the picture used for the MOPS leadership board of my "beautiful mess". I tied the camera to our ceiling fan- ha! We had our first MOPS meeting of the year on Monday. I felt like I was a little too choppy. I had so many things I wanted to include/running through my mind and a feel I wanted to convey- that I felt like I was all over the place. I think everyone had a good time, though. We played a yarn toss ice breaker and giant jenga. What a wonderful group of ladies we have! I ended the meeting and darted out of there to get Ellie to school, then came back to get the younger two. It was so nice to come back to everything cleaned up and the girls taken care of. Whew! Tuesday we had coffee club to discuss Syria. We didn't solve any world problems but the kids had an amazing time together. So much so that leaving was very difficult. Plus, I had a mimosa instead of coffee so that's a real win for a Tuesday morning! Wednesday we had a playdate at MOSH. We got to watch this super cool science show! Thursday was errands and Friday we went swimming at my parents to welcome Katie in town. We went to La Nap for lunch. I got Ellie a quick quesadilla then did a mad dash to get her to school then came back to eat with the others, by then Suzanne was there with Alex (he's in the morning class: opposite schedules!) All in all I like her school schedule. I got to do some yoga, finished all my monogramming orders, and finished Insurgent. It doesn't always work out so well. Sometimes naptime turns into a crying fest between Abby and Marly. And a few times Marly wins and doesn't take a nap, which gets nasty by 6pm. The afternoons are difficult anyway with everyone so exhausted by the day. We play outside if it's nice or stay in and watch tv. We did a power hour on Friday with the Suters and Newtons then ate some Thai. The Nixons came over for a night cap later. Saturday I got to sleep in a bit while Phil made breakfast. That was nice. We dropped Ellie with my parents and Katie so she could go to her cousins soccer games. The rest of us took the boat to the Arts Market. That was so cool! Docking was tricky but we made it. And it was an awesome day to be on the water and at the market. I think Marly enjoyed all the attention. Emily babysat for us, we took a taxi out to celebrate Stephanie's Birthday in Riverside with the trolley. We started at Pele's for dinner. Then tried to go to Orsay but the trolley broke down so we went to Black Sheep, then Mojo's. We met mom, Suzanne and Katie at the Brick. Suzanne came with us to King Street. We went to Dahlia's and the Loft. We got a cab headed home but then stopped at the Awful Waffle. We had to get another cab back home and that was super sketchy. We made it, though. We went to mass this morning. The kids liturgy is back in session so we were kidless, which was nice. We spent the day on the boat and in the pool, celebrating Katie being here. I know I'm going to be sore tomorrow. I got thrown off the tube a few times. So much fun! Man, we have it good!
