The whole family came to school to send Ellie off for her first day. It was a pretty easy transition. No tears like last year. Her teacher is new to the school so we don't know much. But she seems really nice and Ellie likes her. No homework this week so it's been easy. After dropping her off we went to a play date at Adventure Landing's water park. Lots of fun! The sad part is that my phone got wet. After getting amazing Zaxby's first-day-of-school-milkshakes I got a new iPhone next door. Marly's first day of school was Tuesday. The whole family went again to drop her off. This is a new school for her, and us. We switched things up because the hours are good and it's free (VPK). Another smooth transition. We knew most of Marly's class from MOPS. After drop off we headed to the Vihlen's house for a first day party. Champagne, less kids and fun moms, yay! Wednesday I hosted a play date for the Golden Goodness group, my MOPS small group. I got to meet 2 new moms, which was neat. I set up the baby pools and had PB&Js. Thursday was coffee club at a park way out on the Southside to discuss drones. The discussion didn't get very deep and that park got hot so it didn't last too long. I was able to finally see Elizabeth again! That evening we rode bikes to the Freemans for a pm play date and dinner. It was great to catch up with them. I've been better about exercising this week. I went on a few night runs. Friday we went for a run/walk/bike ride and then hit up the Webb library for story time, like old times. We crammed in slushies at the pool before the rain started. We double dosed on babysitters this weekend. Friday we went out with some Stockton parents- Thoresens and Dearings to Hawkers then a new brewery, Aldewife. So much fun, and played it smart coming home early (for us). Saturday I made scrambled eggs then we did the Birthday party circuit. First was Russell's with a water slide! The big girls loved it! Abigail finally warmed up and played with the bubbles right about the time it was time to go. Next was the Holland boys at the pool. We made it for the tail end but then stayed to swim for a while. Lots of friends up at FYC as usual, a fun Saturday! The rain came that afternoon. We've been watching afternoon Disney movies. This week we saw Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio. That night was the MOPS & POPS kick off party at Bluefish. Amazing dinner and lots of fun! Meeting more new MOPS moms! We probably stayed out at Mellow too late, as usual. This morning was super rough. It was a slow, rainy day. We finally rallied and went to the Cummer and then a "snack" at M-Shack. We finished the day with 5:30 mass. The girls loved watching our babysitter sing in the contemporary chorus! Next week will be busier with after school activities!
