This dog thing really is like having another child. I was prepared for that, which is why I dragged my feet for so long. But it really is left on me to do most of the work. Ellie and sometimes Marly have been huge helpers (as usual). They wake up and take him out- he sleeps in their room (back and forth). But all of the helpers are in school most of the day, so that leaves me. I feel bad about leaving him home/don't totally trust what he'll do while I'm gone. So, I take him with me a lot. I know. I'm totally "that friend". Ugh, I hated that friend, too. Never say never. So, here I am. We had a MOPS Monday and did our 1 Vibe dance. It was so cool. Jessica's friend, Kristen talked to us about mental health. Always a great way to kick off the week! Lots of afternoons in the park dragging Spot along. He loves to ride in the car. (I had to get a deodorizer for the car). He ran with me on Tuesday morning. He came to the beach with us on Wednesday morning. He actually chewed through his leash and ran off chasing sea gulls. I do let him go without a leash so he can really run it out. But then it's stressful getting him back. He does come back, which is good. Many times this weekend he ran into the lagoon on the other side of our street. He comes out super muddy. Once I had to lure him into the car to get him back. Lots of baths! Currently all the couch covers are in the washing machine. I even bought a Swiffer. Ugh. I had a membership meeting at TCC on Wednesday night and ended up encouraging a MOPS girls night after party (since I didn't make the GNO). We had a fabulous group at Tracy's until 1am. It wears me out, but fills me up. Thursday kicked off the Steeg tennis tournament. I went up for a little bit that night. Friday we hiked the trails at Tillie Fowler park (first dog park experience). After school I dropped the kids at the pool then went over to watch the guys play their first match. They lost, but played better than last year. We did dinner poolside then headed home. Ellie had Finley Cate sleep over. Saturday we made eggs benedict and took it easy. We headed back to FYC for more tennis watching. Another day at the pool for the kids. Vaughan picked us up via boat and headed back to FYC for the party. We broke down and were saved by David. Great party, but too late and too much booze for me. Sunday morning was rough (especially because Spot had a lagoon adventure and bath before 8:30 mass). Palm Sunday. We met the Smiths for bfast at TCC. Then, back to FYC for the last round of tennis. They won both Saturday and Sunday. I took the kids home for early dinner and bedtime. Phil stayed to watch and picked up Thai for us. I prepped for Season 8 of Game of Thrones and tried to tire out Spot. Early night for all.
